New Bern offers three centuries of North Carolina heritage and is 40 minutes from Plantation Harbor. It is a waterfront city located where the Trent and Neuse rivers meet. You can enjoy southern hospitality at many bed and breakfasts or luxurious hotels while touring 150 historic landmarks or playing on a championship golf course. Croatan National Forest surrounds the area and comprises 157,000 acres, 40 miles of streams, and 4,300 acres of lakes for hunting, fishing, canoeing, camping, or quiet nature hikes. In addition for the less adventurous, you can simply sit at a picnic table just off the road and watch the Neuse River. |
